About Tom
Have you ever seen such a regal fellow, and looking so relaxed? Handsome Tom is ready to trade the shelter life for greener pastures and a comfy spot on the lounge!
Contrary to popular belief, greyhounds do not need endless amounts of daily exercise; they love a long nap just as much as the next dog! Tom will, of course, love a daily walk so that he can stretch his long lean legs and explore new sights and smells. A bit of social play in the backyard with a fun squeaky toy will also get him moving. A food motivated guy, Tom will enjoy learning some basic skills to compliment his beautiful leash walking. As he does love to snack, a good puzzle toy or long-lasting chew treat will keep him happy and busy, especially when he is home alone. At the end of an adventure-filled day, relaxing on a comfy bed or spot on the lounge beside you is top of Tom's agenda.
While Tom has enjoyed some social interactions here at the shelter with other canines, his enthusiastic play style is not appreciated by all and cannot be rehomed with other dogs. As an only dog, Tom could be afforded plenty of time for slow introductions to new canine pals and no doubt become a very polite play mate down the track. Tom would best suit a home with no cats or pocket pets; these little furry critters may not appreciate Tom's spirited approach to play.
We hope that you will be as captivated as we are by Tom's 'helicopter' tail and sociable nature. If this friendly and chilled out greyhound sounds like the boy for you, please come and meet Tom at the shelter.
