About Harley ~ Border Collie (on trial 21/10/2018)
Meet Harley a 1 year old Border Collie! This stunning boy is in the lanky stage of growth for Border Collies but will still bowl you over with his good looks. He is one of the sweetest Borders I have come across and I have owned and trained this breed for twenty years.
Yes it will take a few days for Harley to warm up to you as he has missed out on all his windows of opportunity to socialise. That means that he will bark nervously at any new person and crawl under the bed for a few nights but I have been amazed at how clever he is and how quickly he realises that there is nothing to fear. Harley is great with other dogs and would make a wonderful companion for another friendly breed. Once he puts his trust in you he will shadow you everywhere.
As Harley gains confidence he will need daily walks and lots of interaction with the outside world. Over the last few weeks his true Border Collie traits have come out including playing with a ball and tugging a squeaky toy.
At the moment Harley is still worried about children but during the school holidays we had an eight and ten year old staying with us and he soon settled down. He would not be suitable for younger children.
We have guinea pigs here and he has sniffed them gently so I believe he will, like most herding breeds, just happily watch any other small pets.

(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
