About Annika
It’s difficult to believe that our sweetest hellcat Annika has been calling the shelter home for 4 months, with not a scrap of interest! Well, let me tell you, she thinks that is utterly unacceptable. Her royal fluffiness is not suited to the cattery couture, and she is putting the call out to all cat lovers: Annika is ready for a proper home! If you’re looking for the kind of cat to give you endless love and affection… well, that doesn’t really describe Annika. And if you’re seeking a friendly pussycat full of joy and delight, you’d better look elsewhere. But while she’s not the most civil of cats, Annika is – and she’ll murder me for saying this – utterly hilarious, and would be an awesome companion to a cat lover able to give her some space and time to herself. Annika’s antics and ego keep staff entertained all day long. Whether it’s her jumpiness at the smallest of kittens, her crankiness if she’s given sub-par food (Dine, please!), her startled MEOW for no reason at all, or her tendency to sprawl like a pancake in the middle of a walkway and get irritated when people try to use it for walking, this cat is an absolute crack up. Annika is the kind of cat you can absolutely adore… on her terms. Smooches and pats galore when she wants them, and a couple of claw kisses when she’s not in the mood. She’s the type of cat that flourishes in her own space, and when she gives you permission, absolutely melts with the ferocity of the headpats she desires, when she’s in the mood. Typical torti. When Annika came to the shelter, it’s hard to believe you couldn’t go anywhere near her! Surrendered to us when her owner sadly passed away, Annika spent the first month mourning and unapproachable. It’s only through sheer courage (and more scratched hands than we can count) that the shelter staff turned her from savage monster into savage muffin. While she can still throw a mean torti tantrum, she’s a real sucker for a thorough head pat, too. Annika’s dream human (or slave, same thing) is a single person or couple with no kids and no other animals. There’s no way she’s tolerating anyone else getting any attention! A quiet home and life indoors, with some sunny spots she can roll around in like an absolute goofball, are utterly purr-fect. She will take over your apartment in no time, guaranteed. Our fluffy devil has slashed and meowed her way into the heart of staff, but whether it’s out of love or fear, we’ll never know.
