About Tracey
Tracey is nearly 6 years old & is regular beagle size (about 16 kg) and has been a breeding mumma dog in a kennel. So everything is new in her new life as a companion pet.
She is sweet and gentle & a bit shy of people & houses but has learned to come up for ear rubs when she sees the other dogs getting pats. She is good in the car with her doggie buddies and enjoys her walks with her doggie buddies. Tracey is also now enjoying coming inside the house & being with us. But the best thing Tracey loves is to snuggle up with her doggie buddy to sleep. She has not had any accidents in the house.
Her new family will need to give her time, perhaps a couple of weeks, to adjust to her new home & family. She enjoys sleeping in the sun so will need a backyard, but also likes her safe back room with doggie door to give her a rest from all the new noises, movements & people things. Tracey also definitely needs a doggie buddy to give her confidence & help her settle in her new home. After 3 weeks in care, Tracey is still hesitant with new experiences but is just beginning to enjoy ear & cheek rubs with her foster people now.
Tracey ignored the cats in the vet’s waiting room and the ducks on our walks but we don’t know how she will respond to pocket pets. She has barked once in 3 weeks at the possum in the dark. Tracey allowed quiet teenage girls to pat her but barked at a noisy younger boy when she was spooked. She would not be suited to a noisy boisterous environment but will settle in a quieter calm environment. A retired person or part-time worker with a small or medium dog that's happy to be a doggie buddy would be ideal for Tracey.
Do you have time, understanding, patience and a doggie buddy ? Are you willing to adjust your life temporarily while sweet Tracey learns about living with her new people in a new environment? Can you give her love and a secure home for life?
