About Truffles
Please meet Truffles.
This tiny little girl has lots of love to offer and is at her happiest when she is with her important people. She is the ultimate lap dog, happy to snuggle on a lap all day long.
Truffles is very small so she will be looking for a home with no small children/grandchildren or a senior person to minimise the risk of injury to her or a person if she was to get under someone's feet and be tripped over.
Although Truffles is happy to share her home with other gentle dogs and cats, she doesn't often seek out their company, preferring to be with a person and receiving love from them. She will suit a home with a small, desexed, calm male dog but another dog isn't necessary as she prefers her cuddles with her people.
Considering she has always lived with many other dogs and thoroughly enjoys company, sending Truffles to a new home where her people will be at work all day is not an option. She will become incredibly lonely being on her own during the day.
This little sweetheart is crate trained and toilet trained. Moving home may cause her to have some accidents but we would expect her to quickly adjust and settle into a routine of going outside when she needs to.
Lovely Truffles does feel the cold and will be looking for a home where she will be an indoor dog. She enjoys loads of company and will be extremely content if she is allowed to share your favourite chair and bed with you for cuddle time.
Small walks are more than enough for Truffles' daily exercise routine. She has very short legs so a home with few stairs will be better to provide her with easy access throughout the house and to go to and from the yard.
Truffles is lovely to be around and will make a wonderful companion to the right family. She will require regular brushing and occasional grooming to keep her coat looking it's very best but over all she is a low maintenance girl who just wants to be loved.
**PLEASE READ MEDICAL NOTES FOR FURTHER INFORMATION ON TRUFFLES BEFORE MAKING AN ENQUIRY**
As with all our animals, we are looking for the most suitable home and will assess all applications to find it. We assume we will receive a large amount of enquiries for this sweet lady so please be patient while we read through them all. We will be in touch with each and every enquiry as soon as we can.
Truffles is currently in care in Ballarat, Victoria
Medical notes
Truffles eyes are affected by an auto-immune condition (more common in small dogs than big ones, particularly in bulgey eye breeds) called KCS or Kerato Conjunctivitis Sicca. There's no conventional cure and the eyes will just need a daily application of a nighttime Lubricant Eye Ointment. Brand doesn't matter too much as most of the brands are preservative free for this product and we will be happy to advise on the product we have been using while she has been in our care. Referring vet recommends the ointment over drops. Her condition may deteriorate over time and regular check ups will be required to assess her condition as she gets older.
Vet was quite happy with the health of Truffles' teeth and gums. Considering her age, a clean/descaling may be recommended in the future.
Adoption details
If you think one of our animals would be a good match for your home please email us and we will be in touch shortly after. We all work fulltime, have families and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require any other dogs in your home meeting our foster animal before they head home with you. This enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
