About Ralph
Hi! I am Ralph and I am one of the puppies that was taken in by AdoptADane recently. I have been in care putting on weight and getting all my network done so I am strong and healthy for my new forever family.
I am a sweet young man who is very polite when meeting new people, due to lack of early socialisation, I am quite standoffish when I meet new dogs. I have completed puppy classes with my foster parents, and the first week I was very reserved and shy but slowly came out of my shell. I have 7 month old Great Dane foster sister and I love her dearly, I instantly bonded with her and I hope to have a big sister or brother in my new home.
My favourite past times include, playing with toys and my foster sister. I enjoy some zoomies in the back yard as well but rolling around playing with toys and snoozing are more my style. I am a typical puppy and will cry when left alone for the first while, so I will need a home that understands that I need ongoing training and confidence building to be home alone. My toilet training still needs more practice, currently there are lots of stairs I have to go down to go to the toilet, and I haven't mastered them them! So my foster parents still carry me out regularly and reward me for being a good boy and going to the toilet outside :)
Overall I am a quiet and calm boy the majority of the time, other than typical puppy zoomies. I am reaching the typical teenage years where I like to put my teeth on everything and chew it to pieces! So I need a home where they can be prepared for naughty puppy chewing and provide LOTS of enrichment and chewing outlets for my shark teeth! I can be aloof and standoffish but warm up quickly and with continued socialisation this will continue to improve.
This litter of puppies will have a strict list of pre requisites as outlined below, this is because they did not receive appropriate early socialisation which can mean possible behavioural issues if they do not receive regular training and socialisation.
- adopters MUST have large breed experience
- adopters MUST enrol the puppy into further dog training classes with an approved force free trainer within 3 weeks of adoption and provide proof to rescue.
- adopters MUST be able to afford good quality food and diet as the pups continue to grow, they are a lot smaller than they should be so they need very good quality diets to ensure they grow and develop correctly.
- we do not rehome female puppies into a home with an existing female dog. This is due to the majority of female Danes surrendered to us are due to same sex aggression with another female dog, so we set our dogs up for success by avoiding this.
- adopters MUST have 5 foto plus fencing, as these pups grow, they will need secure and sturdy fencing
- Only successful shortlisted applicants will be contacted, we do not have the resources to reply to all unsuccessful applications.
- please DO NOT phone, email is our main point of contact, however if you are interested in adoption please fill out an online adoption application and DO NOT send a Pet Rescue Enquiry, we have an adoption process in place:
