About Penny and Tootsie ~ Chihuahuas (on trial 8/10/18)
I would like to introduce Penny and Tootsie, two 4 year old female Chihuahuas who came into care following the loss of their mum.
Penny is a long haired little chihuahua. She is a gorgeous little soul who loves to snuggle and eat. Tootsie is the short haired little one who, likewise, is also a gorgeous little soul that loves to snuggle and eat. Together, they make an inseparable duo, they are totally bonded and so happy in each other’s company. Preferably, they like to be in each other’s company on someone’s lap, all warm and cosy, and content for hours. And because these girls are so bonded, they will only be rehomed together.
These two cuties are very happy to be around other smaller dogs. They don’t seem to bother with them, as long as they have each other. However, I’m not sure how they will cope with other bigger dogs and/or other pets, including cats that may enter their world.
Penny and Tootsie do love their food and have quickly become accustomed to treat time from their foster granny, using this as a perfect opportunity to hijack her lap. Both can manage stairs, however Penny took a little longer to negotiate them than Tootsie. Tootsie flew up and down them like a rocket.
Both girls don’t seem too fussed about going on walks but enjoy outings once they are out. They are also happy to be in a car although a little nervous at first. This could be because they have had so many changes recently and a bit unsure of where they may be going next.
I have yet to hear them bark but they do have a very occasional grizzle with each other if one disrupts the sleeping arrangement. Both enjoy sleeping on the bed with their foster carers, and would seem to be used to sleeping on the bed. They fall asleep happily as long as they are able to be in contact with each other, often holding paws.
One area the girls haven’t quite mastered totally is going outside to toilet. They are aware to toilet outside and appear to have been toilet trained but I think the new surrounds and changes has meant they have had a few accidents. I believe once the girls are in their new forever home and settled, this won’t be an ongoing issue.
Any questions you may have about these two beautiful girls, don’t hesitate to send me an email apply by sending the adoption questionnaire https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt or sending an email to leaparker4@optusnet.com.au
Penny and Tootsie are foster care in Newcastle area, NSW and are available for adoption interstate.
Penny and Tootsie’s adoption fee is $900 and they are desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
