About Rosie ~ Red Cattle Dog x (on trial 2-2-2019)
Sweet Rosie, a Cattle Dog cross, is just over a 1 year old and already beautiful young lady. Rosie came to us, just 6 weeks ago, a traumatised shivering mess. Rosie slept outside, under the hedges, where we could only throw food her way for a week and that first weekend she came into the house we were overjoyed.
Rosie is slowly gaining our trust and hardly leaves my side when I’m home all she wants is to be where she feels safe. With my hubby it’s a different matter, he loves Rosie to bits and she him ~ when he’s sitting down. Rosie will stealthily approach any female but very wary of all ‘standing’ males.
We’ve introduced Rosie to her lead and she can’t get enough of it and loves exploring our street, though coming into contact with other dogs is a task for her, again she is very wary. Our daily meeting with a neighbours cat startles her, I’m not sure that she’s ever met a cat before but am sure she’d chase one if she were off the lead.
Rosie loves our garden and has a few toys buried here and there, it’s like she needs to bury them in case they’re taken from her. She loves chasing and bringing back a toy and gives us a laugh when she has a daily spurt around the garden throwing up a toy by herself and showing how happy she is.
Rosie is left alone around 8 hours a day as we work full time and she can’t wait for us to get home, she now has the confidence to stand at the gate looking down the street waiting for us and we get a telling off when we do get home, when she becomes very vocal, and smothers us with love. From then she’s with us until we all go to bed ~ she loves snuggling down and each morning she’s a delight telling us what a good sleep she’s had, pushing in with her nose for cuddles and telling us she is now ready for her breakfast.
Rosie took her time to explore every corner of our home and is now happy wandering around where she wants though, unless she’s with me, does like to be under something or against something to feel safe. Given time and lots of patience Rosie is at home.
Rosie would be suited to an older couple or someone with grown up children, not that she wouldn’t be good with children but their loudness and impromptu moves would scare her into a corner. Preferably someone who’s home a lot or in and out, she loves company and someone who wouldn’t mind a bit of shedding. I’m sure Rosie could clear a 4ft gate (as I’ve seen her leap on our outside table) though she’s never tried to escape.
My sweet Rosie is a beautiful little soul who’s personality and confidence grows every day and has so much love to give though will need a very slow introduction to what needs to be her last move, her forever home so for this reason she can only be adopted with the DRN area of Newcastle, Central Coast, the Hunter or Port Stephens. If you would like to meet Rosie, please contact Linda on hopwood3@bigpond.com Rosie is located in Tingara Heights NSW
Rosie’s adoption fee is $450 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.
