About Mimi
When Mimi came into foster care several weeks ago she was a very shy and timid girl. She would keep to herself and didn’t care very much about interacting with her foster parents and was inexperienced with things such as stairs and playing with toys. But over time this precious girl has blossomed into a delightful and sweet pup.
Here's what her foster folks have to say about her:
"Each day she continues to learn and discover new exciting things such as playing with her squeaky stuffed animal (though she may need some coaxing to get her going). One of Mimis favourite daily activities is going for a walk- she is a wonderful walker and never pulls on her lead. She enjoys taking her time and always stops for sniffs. She loves to dig her nose into a bed of flowers or a bush so we always allow her the time to have a sniff. Mimi does get a little nervous when small and charismatic dogs try to approach her so we try our best to create distance between the two dogs while we pass by each other and she is normally fine and will continue happily. She takes interest in larger, calmer dogs and has not had any problems with nipping or fighting when she has been socialising with other greyhounds.
Most of Mimi's daily activities consist of napping and cuddles. She loves a good snuggle up on the couch and loves to be rubbed under her chin. Mimi is a mature girl and isn’t keen on taking on large flights of stairs… if she isn’t feeling it she will stop dead in her tracks. She can also be a bit clumsy at times and is known to fall off of the couch due to carelessness so we try to keep an eye on her if we see her getting close to the edge.
We also keep any eye on her teeth and brush them regularly to encourage good dental health. Mimi eats twice a day, one cup of dry kibble in the morning and two cups in the evening, she does get spoiled every now and then with bits of cooked steak or canned fish. The smell of cooked meat is next to irresistible to our dear Mimi so she needs to be watched carefully if there is anything in her reach… she’s very quick. Otherwise Mimi is very good at listening and knows that she is not allowed to have anything off our plates, but she does like to sniff what is be served which is enough to satisfy her.
Mimi is such a lovely and gentle dog and would make a great addition to a happy home. Mimi takes the definition of patience to a new level and I could see her happily settling in with a young family. We are so happy to have had the time to get to know her fun and quirky personality that continuously grows as she figures out how to be a pet for the first time in her life. She is a beautiful and regal girl."
