About Tillie ~ beautiful Kelpie x girl (On Trial 21/9/18
My name is Tillie and I am an 18 month old Kelpie x. I am a very friendly and happy dog, which I show with my ever wagging fluffy tail.
Fetch is my favourite game and I will even drop the ball in your lap for you to throw it again. I am a high energy dog, but after a walk or a game of fetch I am happy to lay quietly on my bed or hang out in the backyard, especially if I have a bone to chew. I love going on adventures in the car and hanging out at cafes. I am very loyal and affectionate, and will be your shadow no matter which room you walk into.
I am house trained and I love nothing more than laying on the lounge and watching TV with my family until I get tired and put myself to bed in my cozy crate. While I am a happy and outgoing girl, I am a little timid and am afraid of some strange things according to my foster family. I personally think it’s pretty normal to be afraid of stairs, drains, trucks, loud noises and running water, but apparently it’s a bit odd so I’m working on it. I have mostly tackled the stairs, but the others I am still working on.
Everyone tells me I’m a very smart girl and if you have food I am even smarter, which makes me very easy to train. I know how to sit, shake, drop, stand and will even go to my bed when asked. I am getting better at sitting at roads on walks, and so long as there are no distractions I can do it without a treat! I get quite excited on walks so I do pull, but with a harness my foster family says my pulling is manageable. I am only a small kelpie at 16kg so I’m not super strong but I will require someone who is used to large dogs to walk me as I can be a little unpredictable due to my timid nature.
I used to live with another large dog at my previous home who I loved and I miss him very much. I haven’t been exposed to many other dogs though, so I can be a bit funny if I see a fellow canine on a walk. I am not aggressive, I just want to play. I absolutely love kids and lived with three in my previous home, the youngest being 8 years old. I am currently living with a pesky cat that I mostly ignore. If it provokes me however, I sometimes bark so we are being kept in separate parts of the house for now. With a little patience I could definitely live with a cat full time.
I would be best suited to a home where someone is home more often than not unless you had another dog that I could play with. I get a bit sad when my family leave me but I stop crying after about 10 minutes. I will also need a home where I can sleep inside in my crate and cuddle on the lounge with my family. I am not an escape artist, digger or nuisance barker.
I have so much love to give and would love to be a loyal companion to someone who will love me just as much as much foster family do.
