About Winky (CaV18-250)
Hi my name is Winky and I'm the friendliest girl in the world!
I just love to smooch people and rub all over them and get lots of pats and cuddles and love. I'm also very talkative, I love a good chat about how your day was, what the weather is like outside, what's for dinner.... whatever, I'll talk about it. Don't think I'm not a good listener too though because I am!
I have lots of personality and I'm the kind of kitty who will make friends with you, your visitors, your friends and anyone else I meet. I generally get on well with other animals, it's important to have a slow and carefully managed introduction to ensure things go smoothly, but I should get on okay.
I would also be a good kitty for kids, as I'm not spooked by loud noises or fast movements.
You might notice a little something kind of different about me... I'm sort-of cross eyed. And the reason is that I was born with a defect called bilateral eyelid agensis. It sounds kind of intense but it basically means that I was born with no eyelids! That sucks for a couple of reasons, because I can't fully close my eyes and also my eyelashes are constantly rubbing on my eyes.
Luckily, the nice people at SAFE are organising for me to have surgery on my eyes! It's a really specialised procedure but once it's all done, I will be much more comfortable for the rest of my life and shouldn't have any major on-going issues as a result.
The cost of the surgery is all being covered by the rescue too, so don't be put off by that.
My condition just makes me even more unique!
I'm a super awesome kitty just waiting for my life to begin! Maybe you're who I'm waiting for?!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
