About Chardy
I HAVE A MEETING WITH A POTENTIAL FAMILY COMING UP SOON
.FOSTER TO ADOPT HOME NEEDED. Please read her medical notes carefully before applying for Chardy.
Chardy is such a sweet, good-natured girl. It is just unimaginable that she has experienced such cruelty and neglect in her past.
She was is horrific condition when she was found wandering the streets of Logan, and although an owner was located, they didn't want her back. We were happy to welcome her into our rescue, as it meant she could finally receive the medical care she'd been deprived of.
It would be understandable for a neglected dog to be cranky, but Chardy is as sweet, affectionate and devoted as they come. She loves everyone she meets and greets each person with a tail wag and a sloppy kiss if you'll let her!
Chardy longs for a lap to call her own. She is truly a human bonded dog and needs a home where she can be with her person at all times, whether it be trotting along with them as they do their gardening, going out to cafes or drives in the car or curled up on the lounge watching tv. She doesn’t like to be left alone, so she is the perfect dog for someone who is retired or works from home. With a sweet nature, she is loving towards people and other animals, although prefers human company to other dogs.
She will live harmoniously with other dogs, but as an older lady isn’t interested in playing with her dog friends. She prefers a human bed rather than her own and loves to snuggle all night long. If you want a loyal and loving companion and have an empty lap, Chardy is your perfect match.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant X-rays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Chardy has been in care for many months due to the extent of neglect she'd suffered in her past. Shes had a number of major surgeries and still needs to undergo one more orthapedic surgery.
Chardy has luxating patellas and she had surgery in May. She now needs her other leg done and can not be cleared for adoption until it's healed, which will be several months. We would love to find Chardy a forever home now, however sign them up as her foster carers whilst she undergoes her next surgery. This means she can bond with her new family sooner.
Chardy's surgeon is at Greencross JINDALEE so she can only go to a home who are able to take her to weekly/fortnightly vet visits at Jindalee whilst she is a foster dog.
Alternatively, we have an orthapedic surgeon at KAWANA WATERS who could do Chardy's next operation so a Sunshine Coast home can be considered.
Chardy came to us with bladder issues caused by an enormous perineal hernia. Whilst surgery repaired this, she still needs to toilet frequently. A home with a dog door or easy access to outside is best.
Chardy was partially hairless upon her rescue and whilst her coat has regrown beautifully, she does have sensitive skin. It's likely there will be times when Chardy needs to take medication for skin flair ups in the future.
If you are interested in offering Chardy a permanent home, however are able to foster her first, and are commited to taking her to our vet in Jindalee (or Kawana Waters) whilst she was a foster, we would love to hear from you.
