About Mintie
Mintie is a lovely little thing. Just a happy, playful, cooperative little pup with a lovely gentle temperament and a playful sweet nature. She will make a wonderful family pet and would be a great friend for another gentle, like-natured dog.
Mintie came to us from an indigenous family with her 9 litter mates. Mum Pepper was hit by a car and injured when they were only a couple of weeks old. Pepper was not able to feed and care for them, so their indigenous family asked us to raise them up for them. They had been without mum for a couple of days when they came into care. All but Mintie and her sisters Toffee and Lollypop, and brother Jaffa have now gone back to their family and are thriving and doing well. Mum has had surgery and recovered well too and gone back home. These four were more frail and stayed with us for re-homing. Mintie struggled initially, and for longer than the others, but eventually started to thrive and hasn't looked back. She is going really well now.
Our rescue and rehabilitation work happens in Central Australia, but because of the scarcity of adopters locally, our re-homing operation is in South Australia. Mintie's adoption fee includes crate hire, courier transport by road from Tennant Creek to Alice Springs, and a direct flight from Alice Springs to Adelaide. Mintie is currently in foster care in Elliott NT.
