About Matt
Matt is a beautiful 20 month old black German Shepherd mix. Matt was surrendered to the RSPCA Rutherford a few months ago. Matt is a sweet natured, gentle boy, who is very slight in size, only 27 kg in weight so is reasonably good to walk on the lead.
Matt is very quiet in nature, gets along very well with other dogs once he knows that there is no aggression as he is a very submissive dog and is happy to play very gently with other dogs. Even though he is only 20 months he is past that bouncy, jumpy stage and loves a quiet snuggle and is very affectionate boy.
Matt is used to being an inside boy and would like nothing more than to sit at your feet whilst you watch tv or read a book. Matt would be suitable to a single person or a family with children over 12 years of age as he is a bit big for smaller children.
So if you think you can give Matt a new home please contact us.
Medical notes
Matt is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.
Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
