About Hurley
Are you ready for a readymade family? Then we have the duo for you! Bella is a 10 year old German Shorthaired Pointer and Hurley is a 15 month old Labrador. They met in foster care and have become firm friends and would really like a home together. Both are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped and heart worm treated. Hurley is in the prime of life and in tip top health. Bella is in excellent health with no “old lady” issues just yet, but any adopter should be prepared for a time when assistance with arthritis may be required, and she does take medication to help ease her anxiety.
Both Hurley and Bella are dog friendly, and would be fine with big or small dogs, but Bella is unsuitable to live with cats. Hurley can be a bit of a boof head, and he thinks that every dog is going to want to know him, so he does get in their faces a bit. Bella is still very active and would like a family who will get them both out and about for walks or hiking. She is no couch potato (but will like cuddles).
Bella has some separation anxiety, and Hurley has become her rock. She wants to be with her people, so would love it if you are retired, work from home or if you are home with kids, but is happy when she has Hurley for company out in the yard. On the other hand, she has become a calming influence for Mr overexcitement-bouncing-slobbery Hurley. Both dogs love all people, and are great with kids, though Hurley is a little boisterous so would be best suited with kids primary school age or older. Both are unsuitable to be left inside the house unsupervised, so no dog doors please, but are reliable out in a secure yard, will use a kennel, and both are crate trained.
Both dogs can sit, drop and stay reliably. Bella’s recall will be excellent once she has bonded with you a little but Hurley needs more work on coming when called, and both walk well on lead & halter. They both love to travel in the car and would be an ideal duo if you love to head off on dog friendly outings and holidays.
If you feel that you are able to love Bella and Hurley together forever send us an email and we’ll send you an application form.
Medical notes
Hurley has no major medical requirements.
