About Roxy and Rufus our adorable pair
Roxy and Rufus are siblings with Roxy being the smaller of the pair.
They LOVE their walks, and pull a little (mostly Rufus), however, as they are small, it is easily managed.
Message from carer -
Both are very affectionate. Love tummy rubs. Often, I’ll look down at my feet and Roxy will be lying quietly, on her back, legs in the air just waiting for me to rub her belly. They love the kids, sleep in the girls’ beds. When I’m at work, they sleep on my bed. They can be quite excitable, especially when someone comes home after they’ve been on their own, and when they know they’re going somewhere (either for a walk or for a drive in the car). They USED to get excited when it was breakfast and dinner time, but I’ve managed to get them to sit and wait politely until the bowl is put in front of them. Once down, however, food is inhaled like there’s no tomorrow.
VERY food motivated. The girls have been training them – they will sit, drop (most of the time…) and I’ve been led to believe that Rufus will roll over, but haven’t yet witnessed it 😉
Rufus will bark at other dogs while out on a walk. This is being addressed.
They really are very, very sweet and love company. They follow all of us around the house and need to know where everyone is and what they are doing. I told them both (the dogs, that is) that were it not for the fact that they chase my cats and my chooks, I would happily adopt them forever.
Would suggest they are not suited to full time workers, toddlers (only because they can be a bit excitable), cats, chooks, pocket pets
