About Ned ~ loving 1yo Cattle x (On Trial 10/9/18)
Hi, I am Ned - a 1 year old Cattle Dog x something small! I am a sweet, quiet and lovable little dog looking for a new best friend or family. My foster parents say they love my super affectionate and friendly nature, and I am always wanting to be by your side.
I love going for walks, chew toys, chasing balls and playing with my foster sister. In the evenings I love nothing more than to jump on the lounge and cuddle next to you.
I am a quick learner who can follow commands like sit, come, no and get off the lounge. I go walking each morning, which keeps me satisfied for the day. I get excited on walks because there are so many things to sniff, so I can pull a little on the lead. I could do with some more practice on “down” and “wait” because I am still puppy-like in my enjoyment of everyone and everything. I am very smart and food driven though, so with the right amount of treats we can go far I’m sure.
If you work full time I would love to have a doggy friend who I could hang with while you are away so I don’t get lonely. The more often you are home, the better! I am toilet trained, but sometimes if I get scared with a raised voice or if I think I’m in trouble, I might have a little accident. This sometimes happens if I am super excited too.
At the moment I stay in the yard to play all day with my foster sister, but when you come home I’d love to come inside to follow you around. I’ve taught myself how to use the doggy door here, which makes it nice and easy to sleep inside, but I do have a bed outside that I am used to for the day time naps too.
I’m looking for a home where there is enough room for me to run around and play chasies. I may jump up and lick you because I am excited to see you, so might be better with children over 5 years old. I’m sorry, but I’d prefer if you didn’t have a cat.
Overall I am a wonderful little companion who is very keen to find a place to settle down, and make a life with you.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format:
https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
or PDF: https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
