We would like to introduce you to Hugo one of our latest NSW PPRA pugs!

This adorable and loving boy was purchased by PPRA from Gumtree as his family’s circumstances had changed and they could no longer look after him 😥

We spoke with them about our rescue and re homing process and explained our worries about Hugo being at risk of ending up in an awful puppy farm, and luckily they agreed for PPRA to purchase Hugo and undertake all his vet work and find him a beautiful new family! 👏🏻

Hugo is the definition of a shadow Pug, he loves human interaction so much that he actually maintains a "thank goodness you came home" level of excitement for most of the day. In actual fact his foster carer describes him as the most joyous Pug they’ve ever met! 🤣

Since being in our care, Hugo has had all his veterinary work undertaken including desexing, soft palate surgery and nostril widening. He has also had his yearly vaccinations (C5 and heartworm), dental work and worming.

A comprehensive blood test was also completed, as was a dry eye test and X-rays. Upon a thorough examination, his X-rays showed he has hip dysplasia in both his hips. Our specialist vets believe that through ongoing weight management and long term joint support treatment - Synovan injections, Glyde Chews and loxicom oral, Hugo will live pain free for many years to come, however (to be completely transparent)there is small chance that in the long term he may require surgery to alleviate pain or may require a hip replacement, although right now Hugo is full of life and jumps around like any normal 5 year old Pug does, so he is showing no real signs that surgery is necessary at this early stage of his life, if at all🤞🏻

Hugo adores kids and absolutely loves being involved with the family. He would be best suited to a home where is has access to the indoors at all times, is able to potter around with members of the family all day and most all is welcome to sleep inside on a humans bed! 😉

We also believe he would be best as an only pet ❤️
