About Spuds Mackenzie~Cattle x Mastiff on trial 18/10/18
Meet the dapper gentleman himself - Mr Spuds Mackenzie, a 10 year old Cattle x Mastiff.
This big boofhead is super laid back, loves other dogs and gets along well with all. He is also super affectionate and not quite aware of his size - he seems to think he would make the perfect lap dog. Any excuse for a cuddle. He also loves to follow you from room to room, making sure you know he is there with a gentle lick on the back of the hand or a nudge to the leg.
He is good in the car and on the lead and doesn’t jump up or bark. He sleeps inside on his bed. He is toilet trained and is fine at home entertaining himself while his humans are at work. As he was busted from the pound and we’re not sure of his full story, we have started from scratch with this handsome guy. He is responding to training well, but being an older man he can be set in his ways and sometimes needs a couple of goes at the simple commands.
Spuds would love a companion - someone he can be loyal to and give him the attention he deserves and a big comfy cushion to see out the rest of his days.
For more information or to meet Spuds, please contact his foster carer Tennille at tennille_doherty@hotmail.com. Spuds is in foster care in Cessnock and is available for adoption interstate.
Spud’s adoption fee is only $100 because of his senior status and includes his desexing, vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, and lifetime registration. You can see the adoption process and all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format:
https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
or PDF: https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
