About Buffy ~ 10yo Maltese (on trial 12/9/18)
Buffy is a gorgeous 10 year young Maltese female. She is still spritely enough to chase toys and loves to go on walks.
Buffy does get along with other dogs but she likes to have you to herself so must be an only dog. Someone who is often home would suit her best. Buffy will also need someone patient enough to teach her some manners and be firm with her as she is learning. She tends to sometimes think she is the boss.
Buffy has been toilet trained and rarely has an accident inside. She is an inside dog who likes to spend a majority of her time with you. She will follow you where ever you go and sleeps inside. She sleeps in the laundry here but I’m sure she would love to sleep snuggled up with someone.
Buffy has been fine with my 4 boys ranging in age from 6 to 12 years, however they are very respectful of dogs, leaving them on the ground and only patting them when the dog goes to them. Buffy is also ok with cats but does sometimes bark at them.
Buffy is in foster care in Maryland, NSW (Lake Macquarie) and is available for adoption interstate. For more information or to meet Freddie, please contact Jaime by email at jaihol@bigpond.com or on 0410 491 882, leaving a message with a name and contact details.
Buffy’s adoption fee is $250 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms. You can see the adoption process and all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format:
https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
or PDF: https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
