About Carlos
Carlos is a friendy and loyal young man.
This gorgeous boy aims to please. He is looking for a home where unconditional love will be offered in return for his love and loyalty.
We would like to find a home for Carlos where he will be welcomed inside to spend lots of time with his special people. He loves the companionship of being close to his people and wants a home where he can sleep inside. He is toilet trained and can hold on overnight. Carlos is crate trained but would be extremely happy to have a human's bed to share. He feels the extreme weather so being an inside/outside dog is a must.
Carlos enjoys his car rides and being out, meeting new people and taking in new sights and smells. He enjoys a walk most days but also loves his down times. Time will help him gain trust in his new people so he learns they will keep him safe when he is feeling unsure. A controlled environment where he will not feel anxious or overwhelmed will be best for him. He has auto sit and lay on lead when he has stopped walking. He walks really well on a long lead and has really good recall. He is very in tune to his people and always enjoys praise for being a good boy.
Carlos very rarely barks. He is a quick learner and is very food motivated. He will sit, lay and stay and will also wait at doors and gates.
Carlos came to us from a rural pound and although he tries really hard to be a good boy, we can see that sadly, he has missed out of some very important social skills.
Due to the lack of training and discipline he received while he was young, he is an overly confident dog who needs clear, consistent rules. An experienced dog owner or someone dedicated to obedience training will be an important requirement.
Unfortunately he is confused on how to interact with other dogs so he won’t get to the stage of visiting a dog park or having a doggy friend but is good if he sees them on a lead. He will need structure and boundaries in every day routines. Not allowing him out/inside until he sits and waits etc are good ways to help him learn who is the leader and that rules must be followed.
Considering Carlos will be best suited to a home as an only dog, he will be wanting a home where his people will be around a lot of the time. He is only young and will require lots of company and stimulation to prevent him becoming bored and destructive.
Carlos does suffer from a lack of understanding when he wants something. All instructions are left behind for him to achieve what he desires. When left alone, he will get into mischief. If you are not looking, he will bench surf to find left over food and help himself to whatever is available.
He is still learning safe games with humans. He gets very excited when playing with teddy’s and balls but this is what his training is up to.
Carlos would still be suited to a family with older children (12+) or none at all. As he is crate trained, he is happy to be crated if there are to many visitors as he feels safe there.
When Carlos is left he may bark or cry once or twice then settles. Some time will be needed to allow him the chance to settle in his new home and to understand that his important people will return home to him.
Overall he fun sweet! He enjoys his humans and is willing to learn when it’s clear what is expected.
Please contact us if you have the knowledge and experience we believe will be important to Carlos to help him flourish in his new home.

All our animals are available for a two week trial with full refund. They are also covered by a lifetime return policy. If you ever find yourself unable to care for or keep your pet please contact us and they will come back into our care, this is a condition of our Adoptions.
