Hi my name is Nyah,
I’m a crazy, bundle of love, happy girl that is cat, dog and child friendly.
I’m approximately 3-4 months old, with lots to learn and a very clever brain in my head, which makes it easy for me to learn with consistency and repetitive training.
Due to my breed, I need a forever home that has either a daily active lifestyle, that I can join in with (a running buddy would be amazing), or someone that is home most of the time, or even better a crazy collie or kelpie friend I can play with during the day to keep me entertained.
I currently live with two female Kelpies and an older male Pomeranian, so I haven’t had any trouble with boredom digging, or barking, but I’m likely to, if left to my own devices for long hours during the day. I am crate trained, so I can be locked up for short periods of time and will just snuggle down for a snooze, but this is not ideal for longer than a couple hours per day.
I still have puppy teeth so I need lots of toys and things to chew, I have been know to chew wooden furniture in my foster home, with minor damage, but will happily chew a stick, Kong toy or bones if they are available instead.
I don’t nip a lot as my foster family have taught me this gets me no where but in trouble, but I still need consistent reminders from my new family, especially from any children in my new house, as I do try to push the boundaries more with my younger foster carers than my foster Mum and Dad.
I will thrive with further training at puppy school, I like balls and playing fetch, so fly ball and agility are definitely an option for me, after I’ve had all my immunizations.
I can be walked on a lead or by body harness, I have pretty good recall around my current foster back yard which is HUGE, so with training, I could also learn to walk off lead when older, like my six month old Kelpie foster sister.
I sleep all night in my crate, holding my bladder and bowel from 10pm until 7:30, I will cry to wake you up if I do happen to need to go to the toilet, but I could also be taught to use a doggy door so I could take myself to the toilet. I’m not quite 100% house trained, as I’m still a pup so sometimes forget to hold my bladder during the day, especially if I get excited or have just woken up, so regular trips outside will reinforce the training I’m currently receiving.
I hope to meet my forever family soon, maybe you could be the right fit for me, I’m certain my foster Mum will ask you lots of questions, as she wants me to go to the best home to fit me, so I never end up needing a new home again!
I look forward to meeting you if you apply using this link http://www.startingoverdogrescue.org.au/adoption--expression-of-interest-form.html
