About Scouty Boy ~ Lab x Bull Arab (on trial 10/9/18)
Introducing Scout aka Scouty Boy. This gorgeous big fellow is a 4 year old Labrador x Bull Arab who is a gentle and happy sweetheart. He’s got a typical lab nature and everyone who meets him loves him.
Scouty Boy loves company above everything else - his nickname should be Shadow as he’s next to you wherever you go. This is one boy who adores his humans and thrives on the affection he receives from them. He can chill out on his own when you go out but he really does prefer to be with you.
Scout loves having a run and he looks so funny when he does as he’s a bit of an adorable goof ball. He walks pretty well on lead (occasionally cutting you off when he sees something worthy of interest or a sniff). He doesn’t pull hard on his lead and once he knows you well he will walk with you off-lead too.
Scouty Boy doesn’t have very much interest in other dogs, but when he does go to say hello he’s a bit of an over-friendly, obnoxious boof in his excitement. He was raised with a few dogs and cats as a puppy and was highly social as a pup. For the last 4 years he has lived with one male dog until recently they stopped getting along. Due to him being such a people pooch he would be best in a single dog home where he will get a lot of attention and affection. We are unsure if he’s been exposed to cats recently - he might be too exuberant for them to tolerate.
Scout loves his food! He’s not fussy at all and has lovely food manners. He enjoys bones and will gnaw on a bone for hours. He is great with his toileting and is a pleasure to train as he loves to learn and wants to please you. If you are a single pet family and you are after a new best mate then Scout is an awesome dog that just might be your perfect match!

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format:
https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
or PDF: https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
