About Pluto
Pluto was born 07.06.14. Occasionally, a very extra special greyhound comes along who can melt the heart of even the most sceptical person. " PLUTO" is one of these unique and amazing dogs. This extremely BIG BOY ( 40kgs) has to be the most laid back greyhound we've had for a while. Pluto has never raced which is understandable given his solid build and frame, which is much too heavy for him to have been a racing dog. However, he is no less handsome just the way he is. Pluto was born in a greyhound racing facility and sadly spent his days in a pen with nothing to do. Considering that he didn't have very much socialisation with other dogs after he left his litter as a pup and rarely experienced any interaction with humans, except to be fed and have his pen cleaned out, Pluto has the most endearing, affectionate nature with people and other dogs. He truly is a gentle giant who wants to be everyone's friend. However, because of his lonely start to life, it's only fair to Pluto that he go to a home where he is a house dog ( he is toilet trained ) and either has another dog for company or where his humans are home a lot of the time. Pluto hasn't had very much training on the lead but he doesn't pull and loves meeting other dogs. He just needs to learn to walk in a straight line. Lol. He can be a little nervous around some men but warms to them quickly once he knows them. He is learning to enjoy play time with his toys but like most greyhounds he sleeps a lot of the time. He recently had a back toe amputated because of an old injury that had not been repaired and was painful, but that hasn't stopped him. Pluto is enjoying life and it is so rewarding to see him so happy. I would recommend Pluto for anyone or a family looking for a BIG dog. He is currently living on a farm and with horses. He is very respectful of the bigger horses and plays with our mini if she is in the mood. He is just delightful to have around. WARNING THOUGH !!! He does occasionally howl in his sleep.
