About Jarrah ~ beautiful 7yo kelpie (On Trial 29/8/18)
I’m Jarrah – I’m red and beautiful and smart just like Red Dog.
I’m about seven years old – I’m agile but I’m sensible about it – I can do this great leaping in the air trick – you’ll have to meet me to see that – but I don’t jump on people or over fences.
The other things that might drive you mad – digging holes and barking – I don’t do those either.
So, I’m a pretty neat package. I’m all red except for a splash of white on my chest – which by the way, I’m happy to roll over for you to rub any time at all.
I can sit and stay (sometimes I have to be convinced to stay) and wait for my dinner. I do like to be in front when we’re out walking with the lead or harness, but with a bit of encouragement from you and effort from me, I’m sure we’ll work that out.
Naturally, I am toilet trained – what lady wouldn’t be! When I came into foster care I was a little bit tentative and jumpy with a couple of moves but now I’m very settled and I like coming inside to relax on the mat. I do sleep inside but would be happy outside on a comfy bed when the weather is a bit warmer – I’m not too keen on a kennel.
I’m happy in the car – especially if we are going somewhere that ends in a walk.
I have developed an understanding with the resident cat at my foster home – he is very large and bossy so I’ve learnt to keep clear of him – if you have a cat we could meet and perhaps become friends.
I looooove people – so would be super-happy with lots of people contact. I’d need to meet your children before deciding if I was ideally suited to them – maybe not the small ones.
Email my foster carer Gillian at gillianweatherall@gmail.com to organise a meeting. Jarrah is in foster care in East Maitland, NSW (near Newcastle) and is available for adoption interstate.
Jarrah’s adoption fee is $350 and she is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see the adoption process and all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/old/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/old/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
