About Dougie
Meet the big tub of love Dougie!
***please read to the end before enquiring about adoption***
Dougie is a family cat. He seems like he has been in charge of a house and a family before he ended up stray on the streets.
He is a very calm, confident boy, secure and comfortable in his own company.
He is good with other cats as long as they are submissive...he minds his own business if they are unsure of him, but responds to those who like him. He had become good buddles with another foster, and together were starting to play chasey and silly games.
His favourite places are
-in the kitchen when you are cooking, waiting expectantly for snacks.
-Rubbing against everyone's legs while you are at the table eating.
-gazing longingly out of the windows.
He is very keen to get outside but he is a wanderer which is how he ended up stray in the first place. Because of this an INDOOR ONLY home is a must, he would be happier with a home that has a secure outside cat run to explore.
Dougie is really lapping up the indoor, spoilt lifestyle where he sleeps with a fluffy wool blanket that he kneads and suckles on. He really is a Big baby!
Dougie prefers dry biscuits, canned food and cooked chicken/turkey. Raw meat does not agree with him, and he doesnt seem to like the texture of raw food.
His calm nature may make him seem older than he actually is but he is a real kitten at heart. He is a total comedian who delights in playing 'chase-the-string' with you, 'comical-fast-run-on-tiles' (cartoon cat style), 'drag-me-under-chair' where he zooms around upside down under furniture while giving you crazy-cat eyes...and his absolute favourite game... 'kill-that', with the shoelaces on dads stinky shoe. 🤣
Dougie is a real smooch and talker, he loves attention and pats but from the safety of the ground, He is not keen on being picked up though. He can be easily handled when going into a carrier and Vet visits etc but when he’s had enough he will let you know with a little growl so you know he’s not feeling comfortable.
Because of this he would not suit a home with young kids
Definitely a home with NO DOGS...he's terrified of them.
Dougie is desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea treated
Approx 5 years old
Adoption fee $100
He’s currently being fostered by Toucan Pet Centre in the myer centre rundle mall. You can go give him a cuddle and see if he’s the kitty for you ❤️❤️
