About Sammy ~ 8.5yo Maltese x boy (On Trial 25/8/18)
Sammy is a cute, 8.5 year old, male Maltese x. He is a friendly chap, just looking for a cruisy life.
Sammy loves company. He enjoys his food, loves car rides but he is not fussed about long walks. His ideal day would be watching life through the window, snug and cosy on a comfy bed, with the occasional bark at a cat walking by. As you can see, Sammy’s perfect life could be seen as a lazy one, but then again he is not too old to change.
Sammy is house trained using a doggy door. He would happiest with someone home most of the time. Sammy is an inside dog and needs to be allowed inside, at least when people are home, and to sleep inside. Secure fencing is required for this boy to keep him safe. Sammy hasn't been tested with birds or pocket pets so we are unsure how he would go with them.
Sammy has a low shedding coat which needs regular brushing (every few days depending on length), bathing (every few weeks) and clipping (every 4 to 8 weeks) to keep him comfortable and beautiful.
Can you see Sammy in your life?
For more information or to meet Sammy, please contact his foster mum Carolyn on 0403 653 001 or email cazza1952@gmail.com. Sammy is in foster care in Singleton, NSW (west of Newcastle) and is not available for adoption interstate.
Sammy’s adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered. You can see the adoption process and all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/old/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/old/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
