About Spud
Spud is a delightful 14 week old puppy who loves nothing more than a cuddle.
His basic obedience training is progressing well. He sits on command and comes when you call his name. He walks well on a lead. His toilet training is coming along well as long as you take him outside regularly. At night he has been sleeping on a mat in our room attached to a lead so he doesn’t wonder, and he is able to sleep the night through now without any accidents.
During the day he had mostly been inside, but for the 2 days a week that I work he has been happy outside with our dog. Also he eats his meals in his crate, so should respond well to crate training if needed.
Spud is socialised well with all dogs he has met so far and shows remarkably good judgement as to which dogs he should try to play with and which he should leave be. He likes playing fetch and has been wonderful with our 3 year old human child.
Spud loves company so would suit a family who already have a pet who could keep him company if they are out or someone who is at home most of the time.
If he could speak he would say “Let’s snuggle!”
** Please note as a condition of adoption you must be able to take Spud to one of our vets in Boronia, Cheltenham, Moe or Yarraville in about a months time for desexing.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2. Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form. This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.

3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.

We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
