About Cartel (& Sangria, possibly)
Ideal Owner
We would prefer to keep the dogs together however, we will consider separating them for the right homes.
Ideally they would love a home where someone is with them more often than not - eager to welcome two affectionate snuggle pots into their lives.
Cartel is still like a puppy and loves to play but also loves to cuddle on the couch. Sangria is happy to do things on her own but loves to chill out close to you when it is time to rest. Both are very low maintenance. They also love trips in the car and going on outings with their owner.
The dogs would be ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as they are a central focus when people are home. However, preference will be given to folks home more often than not and eagerly looking for companions.
As they are people orientated they need to be part of family activities.
Cartel and Sangria will not suit homes with residents that are very young, frail, elderly, renters or time poor.
Tolerance to Being Alone During the Day
Cartel will only bark with excitement when folks return home.
Sangria will alert to something strange but is not currently a nuisance barker.
One or both will suit any of the following:
- someone home more often than not,
- someone that works from home,
- part time workers,
- empty nesters,
- active retirees,
- full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as they are a central focus when folks are home.
They are ok for full time workers (9am-5pm) as long as they are a central focus when folks are home.
Likes, Dislikes, Fears, Endearments and Quirks
They love attention. They enjoy simply sitting with you on the couch or in their bed next to you on the floor.
Both are extremely loving and enjoy spending time with their owner. They have never shown any aggression and are always extremely happy to greet people when they get home.
Exercise Requirements
Cartel. Medium - playful and moderately active (can miss a daily walk).
Sangria. Low - enjoys a short walk and 'smelling the roses.'
When ON a lead ...
Cartel is well behaved.
Sangria enjoys the fresh air and likes to take her time savouring all the smells along the way.
When OFF a lead ...
Cartel is sometimes good and sometimes bad but Sangria stays close by and comes when called.
Type of Yard Required
Small to medium, interesting and secure.
Cartel will escape if given the opportunity but he will not actively look for ways to get out. When he has escaped he has usually been found playing with nearby neighbours.
Contractual Note: If the dogs are rehomed together they cannot be separated after adoption in accordance with the Dog Adoption Terms and Conditions. Dog Adoption may ask for updates from time to time.

______________________________________
We strongly recommend you read the profile carefully where everything we know about the dog/s is outlined.
If you are interested in a dog we invite you to submit an application form so we can learn more about your circumstances. This is to ensure we match the right dog to the best home. (one form per family - not per dog) https://www.dogadoption.org.au/expression-of-interest---adoption.html
This is for the benefit of both the dog and the potential new owner(s). It also saves time and uses limited resources more effectively.
Once the essential criteria is confirmed we put you in touch with the carer for a more detailed chat with a view of meeting the dog(s).
If you decide to proceed with the adoption we make a time for a house check.
The adoption fee is then paid (there is a 2 week cooling off period.) Please note we offer a 2 week cooling off period but do not usually allow trials. See here for the difference https://www.dogadoption.org.au/can-my-dogs-new-owner-have-a-trial-period-before-deciding-to-adopt.html
Foster carers are also able to adopt foster dogs once approved.
