About Lola
Make sure you check out Lola's video, scroll the pictures until you get to the end :-)
Lola is an extremely loving girl who adores her humans once she knows she can trust them. Like many chihuahuas, Lola takes a little time to warm up to new people but once she trusts you, she is totally devoted. Lola needs a family or person who is willing to give her the time she needs to adjust to her new humans and their home.
She loves tummy rubs and pats and keeping you company wherever you are she will make a loyal companion, little Lola does not like being suddenly picked up, however, once you gain her trust she will gradually accept being picked up. She had alot of pain in her legs and back from untreated luxating patellas when she first came to us. Surgery has fixed this issue but we suspect she still associates being picked up as a painful thing.
Lola needs a home where her humans are home a lot of the time and a calm easy going and relaxed small dog would be fine in her new home, in fact she would love that for company when you go out. She is not suitable in a home with large dogs and she is also not keen on cats. Lola would also be happy as an only dog if her humans were home the majority of the time.
Lola enjoys her outings to parks and cafes and calmly watches the world go by. However, at this stage, she is not super comfortable with leash walking and this is something her new family will want to gradually accustom her to. Whilst being fostered and recovering from her Patella surgery she really enjoyed rides in a doggy pram.
Lola loves playing with toys and will entertain you for hours, she is also excellent at toileting, using inside wee pads and going outside when she has access, she enjoys her food and loves a bath.
Lola needs a special family who will be able to let her slowly trust, once you have her trust you have a friend for life. Lola is not suitable in a home with young children. Lola needs a home with a SECURE FENCED YARD for her to play in, this is a must for Lola.
Medical notes
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs have been fully health checked by our vets. We offer a free post-adoption health check with Greencross Vets at Chermside, Jindalee, Browns Plains or Indooroopilly hospitals. This gives you the opportunity to talk directly to the vet about any questions you may have. We provide all veterinary records for each dog, including copies of blood tests, any relevant X-rays and medical notes.
All Chihuahua Rescue Queensland dogs are desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. We test all our dogs for heartworm and treat them with regular parasite prevention.
Lola is an anxious girl who takes time to adjust to new people and surroundings. She's on daily anxiety medication which cost about $15 a week.
Lola had a painful luxating patella when she was surrendered and this required surgery. She has healed well from this and will benefit from ongoing joint supplements.
