About Tabitha ~ Bulldog x Koolie x BC pup (On Trial 19/8
Tabitha is a sweet 10 week-old Australian Bulldog x Koolie x Border Collie. She loves cuddles and kisses and a romp around the backyard with her brother and the big dogs. She needs a home full of love and adventures where she is an integral part of the family.
Did I say she loves cuddles? She LOVES cuddles! She’ll curl up on your lap at every opportunity and doesn’t mind a snuggle over the shoulder every now and then. She’s great at doing funny little jumps like a baby deer when she’s excited, and has a talent for being a scary monster under the wardrobe to lunge out at her brother!
Tabitha is very sweet to her foster mum’s kitties so would be great for a home with cats or other small animals. She’s also good with the other dogs she’s met, though she can be a bit of a sook so maybe a gentle older dog would be better for her. Tabitha is used to having people and animals around her most of the time, so she needs a home where not everyone works full time and she has a companion dog or cat. She needs to be welcome inside when people are home, and to sleep inside at least until fully grown. She will grow up to be a medium size dog. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Tabitha is still learning to walk on the lead, but is definitely getting the hang of it! Likewise with toilet training - fewer messes every day! She’s also great at sitting and is learning to lie down. Tabitha is still a very young puppy who is learning to not play-bite with her sharp little teeth so she is best suited for children 8 years and older. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Tabitha's brother Hugo is also available for adoption.
As Tabitha is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
If you have a loving home you would like the awesome Tabitha to be part of, please fill in an application and send it through, or feel free to ask any questions. For more information or to meet Hugo, please email his foster mum Ellen at ellen.foley55@gmail.com. Tabitha is in Newcastle, NSW.
Tabitha's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
