On Hold
About "Adam", Laziness Perfected. Brisbane & Gold Coast
Do not adopt Adam if you want an active, outgoing dog (he thinks a gentle stroll each day is plenty). Do not adopt Adam if you want a dog who will play fetch with you (he'll look at the ball as if to say "You get it"). But DO adopt Adam if you want a loyal, loving companion to share plenty of cuddles and long, lazy days! Adam has perfected the greyhound art of relaxation, and is looking for a home where he can chill out happily forever.
Adam is relaxed around all kinds of people, including children (six or over). He loves following his people around the house, and has learned some basic commands and hand gestures. He's also fond of his Great Dane foster sister, sometimes snuggling up with her in the same bed. We think Adam would enjoy living with a canine companion with a similarly relaxed attitude, but he's not a fan of small, high-energy dogs. Adam has shown too much interest in the neighbour's cat to be suitable for feline company.
Adam takes great pleasure in the essentials of life: that is, food and cuddles. He was very thin when he came into foster care, and leaps like a gazelle when it's dinner time. When he's enjoying being patted, he flicks his tongue in and out and chatters his teeth – he looks ferocious, but he's just contented! This healthy, handsome, happy boy has plenty of love to offer with an absolute minimum of fuss.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
