About "Kuri", Kuriously Cute. Brisbane & Gold Coast
Kuri used to be called Jane, but she's anything but a plain-Jane dog! She's a curious character who needs a unique name to match her unique personality (Kuri also means "dog" in NZ Māori). Kuri's bright and inquisitive, and like most smart dogs, she likes pushing boundaries and testing her humans. She'll be a wonderful pet for someone who wants to build that special relationship of mutual understanding that only the smartest, cheekiest dogs can offer.
Kuri's a confident girl, and has already learned several commands, and to ask to go outside for toileting. She loves her daily walks, although her insatiable curiosity means she's unlikely to go in a straight line! She's still learning to share her humans, using her muscly bottom to push in for cuddles, and getting anxious if they're away for more than a couple of hours. Kuri needs humans who will patiently help her build her independence. She gets on well with her easy-going greyhound foster brother, and has been fine meeting small dogs, so a doggy companion may help her. Kuri seems relaxed with children, but has not been tested with cats.
Kuri has many quirky habits, including snorting constantly when she's happy, meticulously moving her bed to exactly where she wants it (even if it takes an hour!), and giving a bark of disgust if you ask her to do something she doesn't want to. She's expressive, puppyish, hilarious and adorable, and whoever adopts her will have a uniquely colourful companion to treasure.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
