Flea was surrendered to a rural pound along with her 10 pups. That’s right 10! She was extremely emaciated and when she arrived in care, she required a drip due to dehydration. When her pups were old enough to leave their tough Mum, she came to live with us, with 1 goal: to get her to a healthy weight. The transformation is unbelievable and she is a totally different dog.

She is currently living with a Staffy X and a Boxer X, both a few years older. She follows her Foster Brother and Sister around all day and loves to play chasey with them. Flea only recently discovered TOYS, which she plays with after tiring out the other two.  

On her first night with us, I awoke at 3am to find that she had dragged a 20kg bag of doggy food from the kitchen over to her bowl in the next room. The poor thing was hungry and determined! I have had no more ‘bumps in the night’ since then.

On the day of her desexing at the Vet there was a puppy wearing the cone of shame in the waiting room. Flea went into ‘Mum’ mode and gave him kisses on the head as if to make him all better. During the day, there was a dog in the back who was crying and this distressed Flea. The nurses put them together and apparently Flea looked after this other dog who calmed right down. She might be the baby at home, but she will always be a Mum.

I think Flea will be best suited to a home with either a doggy friend or someone who is home a lot as she stresses if left on her own. She is smart and VERY food orientated, so she would excel at any form of training or school.  My friends all agree that she is very docile and gentle. She loves her sleep and the girl can SNORE. Flea has so much love to share.
