About Ollie ~ Staffy x puppy (on trial 23/9/18)
Ollie is a lovely, affectionate Staffy x boy who loves to be the centre of attention!! He loves to snuggle with his humans and with his sister.
Ollie gets along well with his foster brothers (chihuahuas) and doesn’t seem to bother the chooks and guinea pigs that live at his foster home. He loves a bit of rough play with his sister and loves his toys including playing tug-o-war with whoever he can (humans or dogs).
Ollie is learning to be toilet trained, and is doing very well! His humans take him outside often and he rarely has an accident. He uses a doggy door to come inside and go outside, and sleeps at night in a crate with his sister.
Ollie will grow up to be a medium dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Ollie needs to go to a home that will welcome him inside, he also enjoys being outside sleeping and playing in the sun too. Ollie is slowly learning to have manners with his food but after his rough start in life he does rush with food and will need further training and patience. Ollie will need to be trained to walk on a lead but I’m sure he will love it and learn quickly.
Ollie loves everyone he meets including kids, we think he would be suited to a home that will welcome him inside and maybe some kids to be best friends with or even another dog to snuggle with. A family that is home often would be best as Ollie still needs 3 meals a day and lots of attention/training only being a young puppy. You need good fencing with no small gaps. He can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
Ollie’s sister Opal is also available for adoption.
As Ollie is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Ollie, please contact his foster carer Brooke on brook_eh@live.com.au Opal is in Cessnock area, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Ollie's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format:
https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.docx
or PDF: https://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2018/08/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
