About Opal ~ Staffy x puppy (on trial 28/10/18)
Opal is a gentle and affectionate little Staffy x girl that just LOVES to be snuggled with her humans. She loves her bigger brother and snuggles with him when she can’t get a human.
Opal gets along well with her four foster brothers (chihuahuas) and loves everyone she meets, including children. She loves to play with her brother and with her toys.
Opal is learning to be toilet trained and doing very well. She uses a doggy door and is very happy to sleep in a crate, inside during the night (with her brother). She loves to be inside and needs to go to a home that will welcome her inside, but just as much as she loves to be inside she loves to warm up in a sunny part of the yard.
Opal will grow up to be a medium dog. We always recommend puppy-training classes to give your new family member the best start in life. All dogs and puppies need plenty of affection, exercise, and training.
Opal is learning to sit and have manners around her food but this is a slow process because food was scarce before she found her foster parents and she is still in a rush to eat. She will need training on a lead too but I’m sure will learn quickly!
We think Opal would fit well in a family that will share their home, even some kids to play with and another doggy friend even a family that is home often would be best as Opal will need 3 meals a day and a lot of attention/training only being a young puppy. You need good fencing with no small gaps. She can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire).
As Opal is not yet desexed, she is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because she'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when she's approximately 5 months old.
For more information or to meet Opal, please contact her foster carer Brooke on brook_eh@live.com.au Opal is in Cessnock area, NSW (Lake Macquarie, near Newcastle).
Opal's adoption fee is $550 and includes her desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and she's been treated for fleas and worms.

(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
