About Choco
Choco is an 8 year old toy poodle, he came into care under pretty bad circumstances, which we can not legally go into but he was underweight, still is but is improving in leaps and bounds, riddled with fleas and a terrible old injury that never had vet attention. The old injury has calcified after the break was never corrected. Under vets advice we have been told it's too late to fix, so Choco will always have a little bend in his front leg. To put an 8 yr old dog through the surgery just for cosmetic reasons would be unfair. Choco can still run and play and keep up with his young fosters, and considering what he has been through is bright and happy. When he becomes a senior he may develop arthritis in the foot which may result in him carrying it from time to time but I've been assured that will be it. We are always up front with any health ailments which is the why we are disclosing his old injury. If you can look beyond his little paddle foot he is an adorable snuggle pot who is desperate for a loving forever home that will create new positive memories to wipe out the old ones. Being 8 he still has quite a few years left in him, Choco's ideal home would be an older couple who are still very active but are also gentle, laid back and have plenty of time to spoil this little prince. He is currently being fostered with 4 other little dogs none of which have bothered him, he has also had chickens and ducks living beside him with no problem. Choco is an amazing little guy and I think he won't have a problem adjusting to his new life with loving company. Choco is located in Lismore Northern NSW.
