About Tucker ~ 2yo Labrador X Kelpie (On Trial 23/8/18)
Tucker is a handsome 2 year old Labrador X Kelpie who is looking for a forever family to love and be loved.
Tucker loves to play fetch, catch and will sit and stay on command. He is a very intelligent dog and will thrive with continued training and love. He seeks approval in all that he does and will soak up all the attention and love you can offer. Occasionally his puppy urges make a comeback and he will find something to chew, so he appreciates being surrounded by chew toys, balls to play with and a bone for a treat!
Tucker will need a decent sized yard and good fencing. He can do a very impressive 6-foot jump from standing but has never used his talent to jump on humans or attempt to make an escape. Tucker will only bark to alert his family.
Tucker’s ideal family will have time to continue his training and play with him in the backyard. After some exercise he is content to rest at the back door, gazing in at the family’s activities within. We believe he will be happiest in a single dog family but have not had the opportunity to test the alternative. Tucker can be trusted with young children, he currently lives with two young boys and adores their attention.
Tucker is still learning to walk on the lead without pulling and is unsure about other dogs. He travels very well in the car. He is being trained as an outside dog but is honoured to be invited inside occasionally to sit at his master’s feet.
One look into his beautiful big green eyes and this boy will win you over. He is a healthy 27kg and is in very good condition with a bright white smile. You better be quick to act, before his foster family decide to keep him!
For more information or to meet Tucker, please contact his foster carers, Susie & Nik, by email to dog.rescue.enquiry@gmail.com Tucker is in the Newcastle area, NSW, and is available for adoption interstate.
Tucker’s adoption fee is $450 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
