About Baxter
*FOSTER TO ADOPT*
Well hi there, my name is Baxter!
I was transferred to Lort Smith from another rescue group.
The shelter staff noticed that I had a lump just above my leg. The amazing veterinarians performed surgery to remove the lump and it was sent off to be analyzed. It came back that it was cancer :(
My surgeon was able to remove most of it but not all, so there is a small chance it may return in the future. For this reason I will be adopted out with a disclaimer.
The staff here say I am a lovely chap! I cannot get enough cuddles and have a habit of falling asleep in the arms of staff and volunteers. I can be a bit talkative - but I'm just letting everyone know that I'm around and want to say hello.
I am currently on anti-anxiety medicationl. For this reason, I am a foster with view to adopt. Once settled into a home environment, it is expected that I can come off these and be available for adoption.
For now, it is best that I am rehomed with no other animals - I want all the attention thanks very much!
I would love to go to a home where my family are home a lot of the time, as I do not like being alone too much.
I will need to work on my social skills around other dogs. I just cannot contain my excitement around them and can come across as quite rude.
If you think I sound like the perfect fit for your family, please call the Adoption Hub for more information - 9321 7240.
