About Turi ~ 8 month Kelpie X (on trial 8/9/18)
Turi is an 8 month old female Kelpie X who was recently surrendered to our rescue. She was a shy and timid dog when she met her foster brother, who is an older male Kelpie X. After a few days together she has opened up and they both play in the backyard like old friends.
Turi enjoys games of fetch and tug-of-war. She has not been around cats or pocket pets since coming into care. Turi would not be suited to a home with young children as she is still at an age where she likes to jump up on people.
Turi is a very human oriented dog. She will need her training continued in her new home. She comfortably knows sit but will need help with no, stay, wee wee and on your bed. Turi is still finding her feet so we are unsure of all the things she likes.
One thing for sure is that Turi loves her belly rubs, once you start you can't stop or she'll keep coming back for more. An ideal home would be where Turi has another friend to keep her occupied through the day or someone that does not work, if they work they must be able to bring her with them.
Turi will be ready for her new home after she recovers from desexing. For more information regarding Turi, please contact her foster carer Jasmine by email, drn.jasmine@gmail.com Turi is in foster care in Warabrook, NSW and is available for adoption interstate.
Turi’s adoption fee is $500 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, microchipped, and lifetime registered.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
