About Dusty ~ Papillon x Corgi (on trial 9/8/18)
Hi, I’m Dusty a 2 year old Corgi x Papillon. I’m a sweet cheeky boy that loves to play. I get really excited when my carer comes home and will joyfully run laps of the yard and instigate a game of fetch. I do like to run so would suit a big secure yard. I will fetch a ball, a stick, my toys and I like playing tug-a-war.
I love to go for walks and I like to play in water. I travel in the car fine and I like to stick my nose out a slightly opened window - just a little bit. I play well with children and am currently with an 11 year old and an 8 year old.
I love to instigate a game of chasing with other dogs that I meet and would suit a family with another dog of similar size that also loves to play.
I get a bit anxious when I’m being left at home but my neighbours say I settle after a few minutes. I live outside during the day when no one is home and I live inside when my carer is home. I’m toilet trained and use a doggy door to access the yard.
I have my own bed in my carers room and will occasionally wake her up with a nuzzle of my nose if she sleeps in.
I don’t mind having a bath but you better dry me before I get a chance to roll around in the dirt, the best way to dry me is with a hairdryer – I get really excited after a bath but when I calm down my carer gives me cuddles and gently dries my hair.
I’m playful, a little bit cheeky and super cute, I love a good snuggle & If you’re looking for a loyal dog that will stick by your side then I could be the one for you.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
