Peaches is a gorgeous girl who is quite shy and will need a home that will show her love and patience so she can come out of her shell and return the love.
Peaches foster carer has given us a list of her likes and dislikes as below –
I love to give kisses and will try to lay one on your lips if you’re lucky.
I love to play and I adore toy mice.
Once happy in my home I will be a lap cat and happy to have cuddles on demand
I love my head being scratched and my back stroked and if I am in the right mood would love you to tickle my chin and belly too.
Once I am comfortable, I will try and sit right up under your chin and even groom your hair.
I would be happy with a gentle cat sibling but will do fine on my own too.
I don’t like change much and will take a little bit of time to warm to my new home, please give me space and let me come to you on my own terms.
I am a scared of the shelter and can’t wait for my forever humans to come and adopt me so that I can get back to my relaxed and playful self.
Loud noises and sudden movements will scare me until I am settled in my new home.
Because I am a little scared and shy in new surroundings, I think a home without children would suit me best.
Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open between 10am-4pm Mon-Fri and 10am and 3pm Sat-Sun.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
