About Bronson and Chloe
Hi, our names are Bronson and Chloe and we are a super bonded pair of 7 yr young Beagles. We both want you to know that 7 sounds old but trust me, we do not act it!!
Through no fault of our own, we are needing a new home! Our original family have a human baby with Chronic illness, and our older human brother has heart problems, so Mum and Dad need to concentrate on them…
So, lets get to know us… we are super loving, super friendly with all humans big and small, we are also social and love to meet other doggie friends, but at times can be a little wary… Now, we are unsure of those feline things, I think mum said they are called Cats.. so yep we are NOT cat tested. Bronson loves to play chase and loves his toys, but I prefer to watch Bronson play and chew my toys. Bronson and I love going to the beach, going for walks and we love socialising at the doggie parks… we are also fine with just laying in the sun and sleeping. We also both love cuddles, snuggles and being brushed, touched and just loved up!! My brother is such a big goof ball, and I’m the calm one but we love each so much and we wouldn’t cope being apart.
We are great with kids of all sizes and ages… especially our oldest human brother as he has Autism and we would both comfort him when he would have a melt down… our mum was super proud of us for helping him, but we just love all our siblings and no matter what we protect them. So, we could help with any other human needing special attention...
Now, of course we have some bad habits and some learning to do… don’t we all? So, I’ll start with Bronson, Bronson escapes if not Beagle proof, and I guess I will too but it’s only because I get anxious and cannot find my brother Bronson…. So, we both need Beagle proof yards, but don’t all Beagles??? After all, it’s no surprise as we follow our nose and like to be social. If in small spaces, we dig holes… but we haven’t really had the energy due to our daily walks etc, we come home from them and lay in the sun all day!
Bronson and I will bark, only to say hi to our furry friends walking past, and I bark when and if I am frightened, as I am super scared of loud noises like storms, fireworks, lightening, etc. oh and fires. Otherwise, we are pretty quiet and happy doggies!
In our new foster care home, our foster mum and dad have been helping us learn new manners and new tricks. My brother and I are doing well, but our foster mum says Bronson is easier to train.. apparently I am a little more stubborn… I think she has us confused a little!
We have been going for walks daily which is helping me lose weight, I am beginning to get my Bikini body back in time for Summer… the Beagle Boys will be howling!!
Both Bronson and I are dong well with the house training, we are getting to know the areas of the house we are allowed and not allowed, and when our blanket is on the couch we know its couch time! Also, there has been no toileting accidents or Bronson being a boy and marking everything… We are super excited to be a part of the family inside, as we just prefer to be with our humans for snuggles! We are crate training at the moment, at night we have super comfy beds in the Garage, and access to the yard for toileting.. this is going super according to our foster parents!
Our foster mum wants you to know that I am just adorable, but really you could have just asked me… I love my pats, my cuddles with my hoomans… and if long enough i will roll over for the good ole belly rubs, I know my hoomans love to pat there and its just a disservice if i don’t allow them to give me one.
So, we are ready to be adopted, we are both now desexed, (Bronson wasn't but is now). Please contact the lovely ladies of BRQ for an application for our adoption as we all know we would make the best companions ever!! Our adoption fee is $350.
Adoption details
All of our Beagles/crosses are vet checked and vetted prior to them being made available to adopt. They will be desexed as required, fully vaccinated, Heartworm tested, and Flea/Worming/Tick preventatives started, and any other medical needs completed or controlled with medication.
Once ready for adoption, a profile will be placed on the website and facebook advertising their full profile description and requirements. BRQ accepts applications until a given date. The committee will get together and read each one, choosing the best applications that suit each individual dog’s needs, personalities and developmental/health.
The foster Coordinator will organise the meet & greets between the foster parent who has the hound in care and the successful applicants. These take place in mutually agreed dog parks. We will ask that all family members and any other hounds you have already accompany you on the meet and greet.
For adopting families who are interstate or in regional QLD, meet/greets, yard/fence checks will be completed by one of our foster carers in the area, via Skype, or we may ask you to provide photos/videos of your fences, yard and places throughout the house/yard where your Beagle/Hound will be allowed to be and spend most of its time. If the successful family is needing transport via plane or other means, this will be a case by case discussion between committee and adopting family, and at least half the fees covered by the adopting family. BRQ can assist you to obtain a quote for this (Just know that all modes of transport will be scheduled based on the weather. For example, if the temperature is high that day, flights will be early morning or at night).
If successful with the meet and greet, a BRQ rep will organise to do the yard and fence checks. This is done to check that the fences and yard are both safe and all is secure enough that no Beagle can escape. Any potential problem areas that may need fixing can be brought to the attention of the potential adopting family. No trial weekend will take place until all problem areas of fencing have been fixed.
The foster coordinator will choose and contact the most suitable family for the particular dog they are applying for based on the meet/greet and yard/fence check and the needs of the dog. Whilst we allow the foster family to say goodbye to their foster dog, we ask for the adoption fee to be deposited and cleared in our bank account before any animal is released. We do not take cash payments, we give out our bank details and depending on who you bank with can take up to 48 hours to be processed.
Trial period up to 2 weeks is then organised, this time helps both you, your family, the foster dog and other pets become familiar with each other and see if it is a good match between you all. Whilst on trial, the foster mum or coordinator will call a few times during, and you are quite welcome to send us messages or call to ask questions or if there are any concerns etc. Please know you are covered by the trial period and if anything happens or there are issues, we ask to be contacted immediately. We can arrange vet care or any other requirements during this time. We can also help with any training tips or strategies to assist your new family member to settle in their new home, also with dietary and behavioural training during this time.
If after the trial ends you have decided to continue with the adoption of your Beagle/Hound or cross, we will send you out your adoption pack. In this pack includes, all vetting paperwork, Microchip details, Adoption certificate, Adoption Information, Receipt of payment, preventatives dates, With puppies, you receive a puppy pack. Life time guarantee of advice, training and support.
If for any reason the trial doesn't go to plan and when the dog is returned to us, we refund your adoption fee minus the $50 admin fee via bank transfer.
