About Champ Quintana
Champ is a very happy boy, a bit of a sook, and very funny. He is only 18 months and has been with the one family since a puppy. He is a delightful boy, very much a couch potato and at home wanting his cuddles but so keen to get out and have his walk and play too. He loves dog parks and beaches although he is not a fan of swimming.
Although Champ has never lived with another dog he plays and interacts well with those he does meet. He would probably be best in a cat-free home. He is well socialized with other dogs and people. He is best with an adult family or teenagers as he has been known to resource guard his food in the past, and he can sometimes pretend play by nipping heels and playing rough. These are factors that we would work on with the adopter.
Champ doesn’t bark very much and if he doesn’t like the food offered he sometimes will refuse to eat for days. He is okay in the car once you are driving but you have to lift him in and he needs to sit on a booster seat so he can see out of the window and not get car sick.
Altogether he is a lovely boy that would need company during the day or he would fret as he can get anxious if you leave him on his own. Champ would like inside /outside access through a dog door please.
What most strikes people about Champ is how happy he is!! He is a lucky boy who has been well nurtured since he was a puppy.

All dogs that come into the care of Victorian Dog Rescue are tested for heart worm.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer a six-week full refund, free assistance for six weeks for any issues, and a lifetime takeback policy with a fifty percent refund of the adoption fee, and of course an invitation to our adopters’ Christmas party.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.

Unfortunately we usually will not have time to reply to enquiries in more detail and will give priority to completed applications over enquiries. Priority will also be given to typed applications which are easier for us to read and to copy relevant parts.
