About Theodore ~ playful Mastiff x pup (On Trial 8/9/18)
Theodore is a large, healthy, friendly Mastiff X puppy who is an absolute pleasure to look after with his playful antics and affectionate, relaxed nature.
Theo has been raised in a home environment and has been well socialised with other puppies and dogs and gets along with them all. He loves people and cuddles. He enjoys romping with his siblings and cuddling up to my adult Labrador. He can be a little shy and needs a bit more reassurance when it comes to new situations.
Theo is very well behaved and calm for a puppy. He is smart and easy to train and just wants to please. He loves his food and will sit and wait patiently to for his dinner. He is not yet toilet trained but learning fast. He is going to grow into a very large, powerful dog so ongoing training and socialisation is important. He will need a big yard with high secure fencing to keep him safe. Theo can't go to rural fencing (eg: mesh or wire). He is not a high energy dog but he will need daily exercise outside the home to keep him physically healthy and happy.
Theo ideally needs a friendly, calm adult dog as a teacher and companion as he would be too lonely on his own. He also needs someone home more often than not.
Theo needs to be welcome inside when people are home and to sleep inside at least until he is an adult. Due to his size and the need for all members of the family to be involved in his training he would suit children over ten.
Theo’s brother Winston and his sister Charlie are also available for adoption.
As Theo is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens because he'll need to be returned to our vet for desexing when he's approximately 5 months old.
If you are after a loving and faithful companion then Theodore is the puppy for you. Please contact Lucy on 0434 430 720 or lucyhollard@idl.com.au Theo is in Newcastle area, NSW.
Theo's adoption fee is $550 and includes his desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and he's been treated for fleas and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to phone or email the foster carer listed on the pet's profile (scroll to the bottom on the description). They can answer your questions and will ask you about the sort of home you are offering and may ask you to fill in our Adoption Questionnaire. Word format: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.docx or PDF: http://www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au/adopt/adoptionquestionnaire.pdf
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption.
