Happiest little Vegemite, full of personality. Spends all his time hanging out, outside with the big kids. Loves to wrestle and play tug-of-war with his big foster brother, but snuggle up with his foster sister. The smarty pants Kelpie in him means he's a fast learner. Knows how to sit on command, sit for his food and sit before getting pats! Still learning to wait, and not jump up, but have slowed down eating his food so he doesnt choke and knows to wait until the other dogs have finished before checking their bowls for mixed bikkies. He even has the cutest little voice, letting you know he's sitting their waiting for attention. Definitely loves to snuggle though and be picked up to do so, just like a furry baby! He will curl up in your arms for hours if you let him. Has met cats a few times and is curious about them, but got Booped when he tried to play. Although he doesn't live with any kids, he loves to play with them, as their energy mirrors theirs! He's gentle and kind and He's going to make the perfect addition to any family
Adoption details
Before applying, please consider and finalise the following: real estate approval, fence repair if needed, outside shelter areas and look into the dog's breed dietary requirements eg large breed vs medium breed.
Once you are ready to adopt, please complete the OTC Adoption Application questionnaire below. This is not a contract or agreement of any kind, just an expression of interest in the animal. We will not authorise meets unless this has been completed and only approved applications may meet the dogs. Once you are approved and have submitted all relevant information, we will organise for you to meet the dog at your home, or in a public place. If you have other animals they must be at the meet.
If at the meet, you and the dog get along- you have the option of either taking the dog on the spot (in exchange for the full adoption fee paid upfront, and contract signed)- or placing the dog on hold for up to 2 days without any holding fee applicable. When adoption begins you will be provided with 7 days' worth of food for the dog, as well as what brand and type of food it is, so that you may change their diet carefully and slowly, or purchase more, if needed.
*PLEASE NOTE we do not hold dogs for 3 days or longer, without a non-refundable holding deposit of $100. If you are unwilling to put a deposit on the dog, we will continue to advertise and speak with other potential adopters and so you may miss out. We have had to make the deposit non refundable to avoid time-wasters, especially when it comes to puppies under 5 months of age. The $100 holding deposit is then subtracted from the outstanding adoption fee, which is to be paid at collection of the dog. Eg if full adoption fee is $450, and you pay a $100 holding fee so we can hold the dog for a week- the day you collect the dog you will sign and adoption contract, and pay the remaining $350 fee of which $50 is non-refundable.
During the trial period, should the pet become ill, you must present it to the OTC-approved vet clinic in your area and OTC will cover any treatment needed.
On commencement of the trial period, OTC will send you a copy of your signed contract, the vaccination cards, desexing certificate and microchip number implant details.
