About Barney D0965 on trial 7/10/18
Barney through no fault of his own is looking for a new home in his old age. Barney loves the simple things in life such as a warm bed and blanket to sleep on, the company of his humans, and he gets quite excited when he sees his lead; he really enjoys car rides (likes to look out the window) and nice strolls, and he still loves doing zoomies around the home and garden. He has a great joy of life. He doesn't stick to you like glue, he's just happy to know you are around - quite a cruisy and happy little chap. Generally ok with dogs out and about but best homed where he will be an only dog as he just wants to chill with no hassles or competition for love. Barney would be best in a home without very small children who might not remember he's a bit deaf.
Barney does need some reminding about toileting - it's best to take him outside regularly for toilet stops and remind him to go outside first thing in the morning and when he wakes up from his daytime naps. He tends to be fine when people are home but does need taking out/reminders at night time to avoid the odd accident. We feel Barney deserves this commitment and do not want to see him living as an outside dog.
Barney is pretty deaf but responds to his name... he walks a little stiff legged due to his age but once he gets a run up he scoots around with the best of them and is quite a sprightly little boy. He only has a couple of teeth left but that too is very common in senior Maltese/small breed dogs and it is no problem for him to eat normally; in fact Barney loves his food! He is generally in good health.
If you can offer Barney a loving, comfortable home for his senior years, you will be rewarded with his gratitude, happy sweet nature, and gentle company.
