About Mimi (AV1033)
Hi there! My name is Mimi and this is my mate Max. As you can see, we're pure-bred maremmas! (And we love the letter M!)
Although we are a strong working breed and it is important for our new family to be familiar with what that means for us, Max and I haven't ever been working dogs and we haven't been bonded with stock, so we are looking for a home where we will be primarily pets not stock guardians.
We have been a bit neglected in the past so we would love a home where we can be really spoiled and included as a part of your family, not just left outside all the time and ignored.
We are very loving and affectionate dogs who love a pat, a cuddle and adore a good lean (be prepared for Max to pretty much push you over as he leans into your legs!)
We have lived with kids before and would be happy to do so again but we have not been tested with cats at this stage. We are non-reactive with other dogs, but I'm not generally super keen on other females so a slow intro to other pooches in a calm environment, would be the way to go.
Because we have inherited a strong desire to guard and protect, we will ensure we look after our home and property once we have settled in and know that it is our home too. Any new people and visitors to the home will always need to be introduced to us slowly and sensibly so we know that they are people who are welcome there.
We love enrichment toys and require daily exercise so even if you have a large property, we can't just be left there all the time. (Trust me, most of the fun of going for walks is not the exercise, it's the sniffing!!)
We can be quite vocal dogs and generally aren't suited to life on a suburban property. A hobby farm or large country-style block is preferred!
We know it's a big (hairy!) ask for you to take us both together, but we're kind of a ready-made family. If you're looking for two times the love, cuddles, playfulness and affection then you really can't go past Max and I.
We can't wait to meet you, so get in touch today!
Adoption details
Thank you for taking the time to view one of our lovely animals. We love them all and we hope you will too.
If you would like to know more about an animal please call Freedom on 0409 000 259. If it sounds like you and the furry creature are a suitable match then we will pass on the foster carer’s details to you so you can call and make a time to meet them.
Once you have met the animal and wish to go further then we may organise a yard check to ensure that your yard is safe and secure (dogs only). You can then take your new family member home on a 2 week trial and if you decide they are not suitable then you can return them.
If you are not sure how existing animals in your home might be affected, or you want a little extra time to get to know the nature of the animal, we may allow you to foster with a view to adopt.
