About Golem

Pros-
bug eyes
Chirp for a meow

Mouth breather
Cons-
See medical notes below
**Please read right to the end before enquiring**
He came to us as a stray kitten close to death, he had the flu so bad he couldn’t eat or drink, he was emaciated and anaemic from blood loss resulting from all the parasites on him.
He was touch and go for a while but he wanted to live so he fought his hardest, and now he’s making the most of what life has to offer.
He is the most lovable and dopey little guy who is shy at first but after a day to settle he will start creeping closer and closer until you don’t realize he’s snuggled behind your head on the couch!
Sometimes he will come up for pats, sniff your hand then run away in disgust with a look on his face as though you offended his great ancestors, other times he will allow your pats and start his creepy, mouth breathing purrs. More often than not he allows the pats.
He just wants to be one of the boys and play with his kitty friends, he always shares his toys and food and wants to be included despite being the creepy kid in the house. He loves kids and dogs too so really any friend will help him adjust.
Medical notes-
He was always the snotty kid until we had his sinuses flushed and that has fully cleared up.
Now he’s the weepy eye kid.
The flu virus he had is suspected to be the herpes virus (not the same as the human one!!) it just means that it can stay with him forever and in a heightened time of stress it may “flare up” again in the form of a weepy eye or runny nose or sometimes gingivitis.
It’s very common in rescue cats and the good news is your kitty’s yearly vaccination covers against it!
So looking into the future- he may need every now and then a course of antibiotics or antivirals to tackle any symptoms at the time. He will go home with both to ensure he’s covered for the transition to a new home.
In most cases as they get older and their immunity increases the symptoms decrease.
He’s very special to all of us and his new home would need to understand his potential medical issues and accept they’re adopting a true rescue kitty. You’d need to keep in touch so we can see how he’s doing and we’re happy to offer ongoing Vet support for him as required.
This video was taken of him at his worst so his looks only improve from here!
He’s desexed, microchipped wormed and flea treated
