About "Esky", Totally Chilled. Melbourne
Esky is a tall, dark, handsome chilling machine! This boy really knows how to relax, and is one of the happiest greyhounds we've ever met. Even on the day he was de-sexed, his tail wouldn't stop wagging, and he was so groggy from his medication that he actually wagged himself off balance and toppled over! That's ok, everything's cool with Esky, and he just kept on smiling.
Esky is so chilled-out that not much fazes him. He quickly learned toileting and stairs, and loves getting out for a walk – at least one half-hour (or maybe two) per day. He likes meeting other dogs, and nibbles affectionately on his canine foster siblings. He's also relaxed when he's alone, taking the opportunity for some serious napping. The only worry with Esky is his large size and waggy tail, which means you have watch out for things on low tables! He'd be fine with children old enough not to get knocked over (seven or older), and seems ok with small dogs, although he hasn't met many so far. Esky is not so chilled out about cats.
Esky will keep you smiling, with his fondness for head-bumps (fist-bumps are hard when you're a dog), and his never-ending cheerfulness. He's a very cool guy with a very warm heart.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
